Rules

 

The FIO adheres to the official PGA golf regulations

Basic Rules:

·         - Scoring:

Women:

Par 3 maximum number of strokes: 6

Par 4 maximum number of strokes: 8

Par 5 maximum number of strokes: 10

Men:

No stroke limit

·         - Men play on men’s tees, women play on women’s tees

·         - Each dropped ball is one penalty stroke

·         - One mulligan per person per 9 holes

·         - One score card per team for the overall Team Championship

·         - The score cards are based on the honor system. Players caught cheating will be banned for life from all FIO events and PGA tour events

·         - Alcohol consumption is allowed and encouraged by the FIO Rules committee

Modified Scramble Team Championship: Each person tees off and the best drive is chosen. (Note: If you are on a three person team, one player may tee off twice.) All members of the team, drops their ball at the spot of the best drive and from that point on, each golfer plays his/her own ball into the hole. Please note on your score card whose drive has been chosen for each hole. The team must use each player’s drive at least two times per nine holes. The team with the lowest average score wins.

Closest to the Pin Awards:

On Hole #13, each player tees off and the player whose initial drive lands closest to the cup wins their team’s Closest to the Pin Award. There will be one winner from each team. As always, use the honor system and note the winner on your scorecard.
